Vidarsa K Vinod became the first woman from Kerala to win an Asian Games shooting medal, claiming silver in the 10m air rifle team event on her debut. A former NCC shooter, she took up the sport professionally in 2019 and trains mainly in Delhi. The medal has boosted her confidence ahead of her main event, the 50m rifle 3 Positions.
