Made-in-India electronics get PLI boost as firms draw Rs 20,580 crore investment

India’s ambitious push in electronics manufacturing has garnered remarkable incentives totaling Rs 19,090.98 crore, enabling the production of more mobile devices. The surge in smartphone exports is astounding, leaping from $5.5 billion to nearly $30 billion over the period from 2021-22 to 2025-26. Launched in 2020, the PLI scheme has embraced 32 companies, significantly bolstering manufacturing across 14 sectors, supported by a generous budget of Rs 1.91 lakh crore.
