Bigamy case can’t be quashed over lack of proof of rituals in second marriage: Uttarakhand HC

The Uttarakhand high court refused to quash criminal proceedings against a man accused of bigamy. A woman does not need to prove Saptapadi at the initial stage of a case. The court stated that proving essential marriage rituals occurs during the trial. The husband had challenged the summoning order, citing lack of Saptapadi proof.
