Apple stopped working with Nvidia after MacBooks kept breaking, but now it may need Nvidia’s help for a product it stopped making 15 years ago

Apple is reportedly building an AI server powered by two or four of its upcoming M8 Ultra chips, and it may use Nvidia’s NVLink Fusion technology to connect them. The move would mark Apple’s first server since the Xserve was discontinued in 2011, and a rare tie-up with Nvidia after faulty MacBook graphics chips soured ties nearly two decades ago. The server is not expected before 2029 and could be cancelled.
