A recycled plastic bridge crossed Scotland’s River Tweed near Edinburgh in 2011. Axion International manufactured the bridge in the United States and shipped it in six sections. This prefabricated structure allowed for rapid assembly, taking only four days to erect. The entire project, including dismantling the old bridge, was completed in less than two weeks. The innovative approach demonstrated efficient use of recycled materials and prefabrication techniques.
