Ismael Laguna was a Panamanian boxing great and two-time world lightweight champion. Known as “The Tiger of Colón,” he beat Carlos Ortiz for his first world title in 1965 and returned to the top by stopping Mando Ramos in 1970. Laguna finished with 65 wins, 37 knockouts, nine losses and one draw and entered the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2001.
