Gary Myers, the former NASCAR driver and Bowman Gray Stadium racing legend, died September 10 at 76 after an extended period of ill health. He made 46 Cup Series starts, won 38 races at Bowman Gray and became the 1996 SMART Modified Tour champion. His racing legacy continues through sons Burt and Jason Myers and grandson Slate.
