Visa rejection broke her heart, then saved her life: Bengal woman escapes Nepal floods

A visa denial for a Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage saved a woman from flash floods in Nepal. Tapati Singha avoided the disaster which claimed over 350 lives in the Himalayan country. She had planned to join 33 other pilgrims from West Bengal for the journey. Singha traveled to Ladakh instead after her Chinese visa was rejected without reason. Officials are still unable to contact the 32 missing tourists from the pilgrimage.
