The overnight assault lasted around two hours, with Ukrainian officials saying Russia fired 24 ballistic missiles, four additional cruise missiles and 115 drones, many of them jet-powered and more difficult to intercept. Ukraine said its dwindling stock of Patriot missile interceptors left it unable to stop most of the incoming ballistic missiles.
