Five healthy cheetah cubs were born at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, raising India’s total cheetah count to 60. The cubs are the first Indian-born cheetahs to carry Botswana lineage, contributing to genetic diversity. KJP21, the mother, is the third Indian-born female to give birth, following Mukhi and KGP12. Monitoring of the mother and cubs will occur in the upcoming days due to high cub mortality rates.
