However, a dedicated community coalition stepped in to rescue it from the brink of demolition. In 1997, McMenamins reimagined the space, creating a vibrant venue with hotels, bars, and theaters, all while showcasing its historic architecture. Today, it stands as a beloved community hub for residents and tourists alike.
