Ayesha Curry has opened Sweet July Cafe at the Ritz-Carlton in Charlotte, the first of three restaurants she’s launching with chef Michael Mina in the city where she spent her teenage years. The menu blends Jamaican flavors, from a coconut ginger syrup to a Caribbean-inspired chicken pita, into a lighter, casual format. Curry called the opening a full circle moment tied to family still living in Charlotte, with two more concepts, The Eighth Rule and Bourbon Steak, opening later this year.
