SP MP Laxmikant ‘Pappu’ Nishad booked under SC/ST Act over assault, caste-based abuse

Samajwadi Party MP Laxmikant alias ‘Pappu’ Nishad and others have been booked following a clash during a Ganesh idol-immersion procession in Sant Kabir Nagar. Separate FIRs were filed over alleged vehicle damage, assault, caste-based abuse and threats. Police invoked BNS provisions and the SC/ST Act and are examining evidence.
