Southern Railway achieved ₹13,778 crore in gross earnings during 2025-26, showing an increase. Freight handling rose to 42.184 million tonnes, and passenger traffic grew by 4.7 percent. The railway maintained 91.3 percent punctuality while introducing new trains and services. Infrastructure development included commissioning new sections and safety enhancements across the zone. The Railway Hospital also received a Corneal Eye Banking licence for its services.
