Sebi cuts inspection load for market intermediaries, shifts focus to risk-based checks

Sebi has overhauled its inspection framework, reducing FY27 inspections to about one-third of last year’s level. The regulator will prioritise risk-based, joint inspections using alerts, complaints and market intelligence while easing compliance burdens for well-governed market intermediaries.
