Former TMC MLA Nirmal Ghosh was arrested in Balasore district on Thursday. He is wanted in a fresh case linked to the August 2024 rape-murder incident. West Bengal Police apprehended Ghosh from a hotel near National Highway 16. The arrest follows a complaint filed by the victim’s father regarding evidence destruction. Ghosh and two others allegedly pressured the family for a hurried cremation.
