Rats in kitchen, meat in plastic bags: FDA raids Mumbai eateries, suspends 5 licences

Maharashtra FDA suspended five licenses and seized banned products worth twenty-five lakh rupees. Inspections revealed serious hygiene and food safety lapses in several establishments. Banned products and dairy items valued at thirteen lakh rupees were also confiscated. Ten individuals were arrested and six establishments were sealed during the statewide campaign. The FDA continues its “Safe Food, Safe Maharashtra” drive to ensure citizen access to pure food.
