A deceased woman’s identity was used for a loan in 2022. Forged documents, including another woman’s photograph, facilitated this fraud. Investigators uncovered this after a fact-finding inquiry by the Punjab Bureau of Investigation. The Shubh Lakshmi Private Finance Limited sanctioned the loan using fake identities. Two other loan fraud instances involving similar document misuse were also flagged.
