NLSIU students and alumni have strongly opposed BCI chairman Manan Kumar Mishra and the Chief Justice of India attending the university’s convocation, citing their alleged roles in the NALSAR controversy. A statement signed by 165 graduating students, 409 current students and 128 alumni expressed solidarity with NALSAR and criticised the BCI’s directions to identify dissenting students and faculty. They demanded an unconditional apology, questioned the use of BCI letterhead and warned of threats to free speech.
