On Wednesday, a dedicated goods train, dubbed the ‘Kanda Express’, set off from Lasalgaon bound for Delhi, aiming to alleviate the escalating onion prices troubling the capital. Loaded with around 450 metric tonnes from reserves, the train’s journey was briefly interrupted by activists protesting the onion transport, although they were quickly detained by authorities. The train is scheduled to arrive on Thursday.
