Mushtaq Khan, known for his comedic role as Ballu in Welcome, faced payment issues during filming. Despite his limited screen time, his character and performance became memorable. Although agreed to work for Rs 1 lakh, the extended shooting days did not increase his remuneration. He later reprised his role in the sequel Welcome Back, despite previous payment disputes. Mushtaq Khan passed away in September 2026 after battling cancer.
