Uttar Pradesh’s Jal Jeevan Mission has connected over 1.5 crore rural families with piped water. This initiative significantly reduces women’s water collection burden and improves public health. Schools and Anganwadi centres now also have functional tap water connections. Over four lakh women were trained for water quality testing, enhancing community participation. Bundelkhand region experienced the most profound transformational impact from this program.
