Six accused were convicted in a nine-year-old doda poppy smuggling case in Jaisalmer and sentenced. Each was given 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000. The conviction followed a police operation where 22.850kg of illegal doda poppy was seized from a Bolero Camper. The vehicle used for the smuggling will be confiscated and auctioned as ordered by the court.
