India’s unsold home inventory is piling up in premium segments: Report

Unsold housing inventory in India increased by four percent by mid-2026. Lower-priced homes saw continued absorption, while premium segments experienced inventory growth. The time to sell existing stock slightly increased due to rising inventory and flat sales. Ahmedabad and the National Capital Region showed the longest inventory clearance times. Pune and Chennai demonstrated stronger absorption rates for residential properties.
