In the second quarter, several Indian banks reported that credit growth outpaced deposit growth significantly. Canara Bank experienced a credit growth of 19.4% compared to a 13.1% increase in deposits. Similarly, Indian Bank showed a credit growth of 16.6%, while deposits grew only by 12.4%. This trend was seen across most banks, though South Indian Bank was an exception.
