In a decisive move in 2015, Utah wildlife officials implemented a full fishery reset at Red Fleet Reservoir to eliminate a problematic walleye population that posed risks to local fish species. Using rotenone, they wiped out existing fish before restocking the reservoir with carefully chosen species. They introduced sterile walleye alongside other desirable fish and installed a barrier to keep fish from escaping into the Green River.
