In Chile, three friends established Net Positiva to tackle the issue of discarded fishing nets. They incentivized fishermen to turn in these nets, which were then transformed by Bureo into skateboards and various products. With Patagonia’s investment in 2014, Bureo broadened its product offerings and market presence, ultimately recycling millions of pounds of fishing nets worldwide.
