Satellite images revealed enormous geometric earthworks across Kazakhstan’s Turgai steppe. These ancient structures, formed from earthen mounds, were difficult to see from the ground. Archaeologists later investigated some sites, finding hearths and other artifacts. Direct dating evidence suggests the earliest structures date to around 800 BC. The exact purpose of these large geoglyphs remains a mystery to researchers.
