In 1989, Apple buried about 2,700 unsold Lisa computers at a landfill in Logan, Utah, ending the story of one of its biggest early failures. Launched in 1983 with a graphical interface and mouse, the Lisa was ahead of its time but struggled because of its nearly $10,000 price and hardware problems. A computer reseller later tried to upgrade and sell thousands of the machines, but the effort ultimately failed. Today, surviving Lisa computers are valuable pieces of Apple history.
