Using safe fluorescent dyes, researchers were able to monitor the water’s journey through concealed channels. Alarmingly, around sixty percent of the aquifer’s recharge area exists outside designated protective zones. This finding underscores the importance of collaborative efforts to preserve the cave ecosystem, prompting a shift towards landscape-wide management.
