Green iguanas, once sought after as unique pets, have now made South Florida their home due to its ideal climate. Following Hurricane Andrew in 1992, their numbers skyrocketed across the area. These invasive species inflict considerable damage by consuming vegetation and digging holes. In response, Florida outlawed their import and breeding, allowing locals to manage these wild iguanas.
