In 1947, the Eisenhower family residence in Abilene, Kansas, was opened to the public, showcasing the preserved furnishings and details of the home as they were post-Ida Eisenhower’s death. This historic site, where six Eisenhower boys spent their childhood, was entrusted to the Eisenhower Foundation, attracting visitors from across the nation and eleven countries. Today, it remains a key part of the Eisenhower Presidential Library complex.
