St Stephen’s College began with five students and three teachers in 1881. Its first classrooms were located in a historic haveli known as Sheesh Mahal. The institution later moved to Kashmiri Gate and then its current North Campus location. The original haveli in Chandni Chowk remained a link to the college’s early history. Restoration efforts aimed to preserve this significant architectural piece.
