Google is preparing to phase out ChromeOS updates for Chromebooks by mid-2034, introducing Googlebook OS for newer models. Current Chromebooks will continue to receive updates until the end of their individual support lifecycles as per the Auto Update policy. Google has assured that many recent Chromebook devices will be eligible for a migration path to Googlebook OS.
