GitHub CTO apologises to developers after one of the biggest outages

GitHub experienced a significant outage lasting nearly eight hours on August seventeenth. The platform failed because it ran out of storage capacity during a traffic peak. A critical infrastructure component in the Central US data center could not scale effectively. This led to widespread service disruptions affecting various GitHub features and tools. GitHub has apologized and is implementing fixes to prevent future occurrences.
