Brijesh Ganjhu, a former Maoist and TSPC commander, was killed in an encounter. He had a ₹30 lakh reward for his arrest by security agencies. Ganjhu also served as an elected village head while linked to extremist activities. His outfit engaged in a prolonged rivalry with the CPI (Maoist) for influence. Over 45 cases were registered against him for various serious offenses.
