Free bus travel for women will expand to express, LSS, and deluxe government buses. This enhanced scheme begins on October 2, Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. Ordinary-fare buses on mofussil and hill routes will also offer free travel. Transgender persons will also be eligible for this expanded free travel benefit. The government anticipates an annual expenditure of approximately six thousand crore rupees.
