After more than fifty years, a rare rainbow snake has made an appearance in Ocala National Forest. This elusive creature, typically found near water, was spotted and photographed by a hiker in 2020. To further study the species’ distribution, officials are seeking public assistance. They are especially interested in any additional photographs and location data, which are vital to track the survival of rainbow snakes across Florida.
