A consumer commission ordered Federal Bank to refund Rs 9,854 to a customer. This followed two unauthorized UPI transactions from his account via a fake scratch card. The bank must also pay Rs 5,000 for mental agony and Rs 3,000 for costs. The commission found no proof of customer negligence in the transactions. Federal Bank was directed to recredit the full amount within thirty days.
