The Enforcement Directorate has detained a promoter from a ghee company over claims of serious adulteration. During the production, refined palm oil and chemicals were said to be incorporated, resulting in ghee fraudulently marketed as Agmark Special Grade Cow Ghee. Between 2019 and 2024, these illegal activities led to fraudulent supplies valued at Rs 230 crore to the TTD, with the promoter orchestrating procurement via proxy firms.
