The Digital Communications Commission approved most Trai recommendations for satellite spectrum. Starlink, Eutelsat OneWeb, and Jio Satellite Communications received permission for satcom services. The Department of Telecom will seek Cabinet approval for pricing and allocation. Trai recommended a five-year satellite broadband spectrum allotment with extensions. The regulator also favored subsidies for user terminals in remote rural areas.
