Deputy commissioner V V Geethanjali has sought to withdraw from the investigation into granite baron R Veeramani. This decision follows her previous involvement and the rejection of a closure report by the court. Veeramani was arrested along with two associates after renewed investigation orders. Geethanjali has taken leave for personal reasons and was not available for comment. The all-women SIT continues to operate without her participation in the ongoing case.
