Central Railway has achieved significant growth in freight revenue during the current fiscal year. Between April and August 2026, freight earnings reached Rs. 3,461.92 crores, up from last year’s figures. The Nagpur and Mumbai divisions contributed the most to the overall tonnage and revenue. August marked a record month with the highest freight loading in the last decade. Coal and containers continued to dominate the freight basket across the network.
