Andhra woos HD Hyundai with $4 billion shipbuilding cluster

Andhra Pradesh is seeking HD Hyundai Heavy Industries for a new shipbuilding cluster. The state offers the Kakinada port for this proposed $4 billion investment. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries previously signed an agreement with Tamil Nadu for a similar project. This initiative aligns with the Centre’s Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Scheme. The scheme received approval in September 2025 for development.
