Amaravati set to become India’s second greenfield city with fully privatised power distribution

Andhra Pradesh’s new capital, Amaravati, will completely privatize its power distribution network. This move follows Greater Noida’s successful privatization model initiated in 1993. The city will also feature a unique underground cable network for electricity distribution. Farmers contributed land for this planned capital, which expects significant population growth. Existing substations will be upgraded as the capital develops and settles.
