As many as 96 per cent of organisations in India suffered a material, business-disrupting cyber incident over the past 12 months, with more than one in three involving artificial intelligence (AI)-enhanced attacks, according to a report released by technology major Cisco.
The study highlighted that internal organisational friction – including bureaucratic approval delays, fragmented data, and disconnected teams – represents a greater impediment to strengthening cyber defences than technological limitations.
The findings are part of Cisco’s ‘Relentless Defense Report’, based on a double-blind survey of 8,000 security professionals across 30 markets, including 1,000 respondents from India.
The report evaluated organisations on how completely they protect their environments, the speed at which they detect and remediate threats and the operational bottlenecks that slow them down.
