Construction of the Bhandai-Kitham bypass line is progressing steadily towards its December 2026 completion. Around eighty-two percent of the civil work for this project has now been finished. Earthwork and minor bridge construction are largely complete, with major bridge work advancing. A new crossing station at Nanpur will further improve train operations and capacity. This bypass is expected to enhance rail movement on the Delhi-Mumbai route.
