Maharashtra’s cardiac programme has performed nearly 58 lakh ECGs and identified over 34,000 serious heart attack cases. A study revealed that almost one in four cardiac procedure patients were under 50 years old. Among those procedures, men made up 67% and patients aged 50-69 represented 60% of the total. Cardiologists are increasingly observing coronary disease among younger individuals due to various risk factors.
