13-year-old football player Caden Sorrell died after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest during practice at Northwest Guilford Middle School in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Aug. 30. Doctors used ECMO and other emergency measures, but his condition was too severe. His family said doctors believe an underlying genetic condition may have contributed to his death. Sorrell leaves behind his twin brother and three siblings. His school community will hold a vigil on Sept. 2.
