AI, quantum navigation & drone swarms: China’s J-50 aims to ‘leapfrog’ fighter technology

China’s next-generation stealth fighters are being designed with advanced autonomous capabilities. These aircraft could fly without pilots and navigate without satellite signals. The Shenyang Aircraft Design & Research Institute is leading this research effort. Concepts include automatic control and quantum navigation for difficult combat situations. These fighters will also control large groups of drones for various missions.
